How to use XO

Cleanse, hydrate, nourish, seal.

Five minutes at night, two in the morning, and the order is the whole idea. Cleanse gently, so the skin is soft and not stripped. Hydrate with cold floral water. Nourish with oil while the skin is still damp. Then seal it all in.

Step 01

Cleanse

Cleansing Oil

At night: a dropper full massaged into damp skin. Then use the warm, moist face cloth to gently remove the cleanser.

Step 02

Hydrate

Hydrosol

Misted generously over face and neck, night and morning.

Step 03

Nourish

Facial Serum · Pomegranate

Three to five drops pressed into damp skin, more if it asks for it.

Step 04

Seal

Snowfall · Solstice Butter

Snowfall overnight when the air turns cold; Solstice for body, hands and the morning face.

After dark

Night

  1. Cleanse

Lay a warm, moist face cloth on the skin to moisten it. Warm a dropper full of Cleansing Oil between the fingertips and massage it in, in upward circles to the hairline. Lay the warm, moist face cloth on the skin again and take a few deep breaths. Now use the warm, moist face cloth to gently remove the cleanser.

  2. Hydrate

Mist the Hydrosol generously over face and neck while the skin is still warm.

  3. Nourish

Press three to five drops of Facial Serum into skin still damp from the hydrosol, more if your skin asks for it. Or the Pomegranate Facial Serum in its place.

  4. Seal, when the air turns cold

Instead of the serum: six to eight sprays of hydrosol, then a tiny amount of Snowfall from the spatula, warmed between the fingers and pressed over face and décolletage while still wet. Sleep.

On waking

Morning

  1. A warm, moist face cloth

No cleansing in the morning: a warm, moist face cloth is enough.

  2. Hydrate

Mist the Hydrosol over face and neck. Kept in the refrigerator, it wakes you up.

  3. Nourish

Three to five drops of serum pressed into damp skin.

    Facial Serum
  4. Seal

A tiny amount of Solstice from the spatula, a drop or two of serum mixed in, melted between the fingertips and pressed on. Then sunscreen. And on hands and body, any time.

Slow down

A warm, moist face cloth, and a few deep breaths.

The ritual is meant to slow the day down. Warm water, not hot. A cloth laid over the face, the scent of the plants, a few minutes that belong to no one else.

Keep the hydrosol cold and the butters on the spatula, never the fingers. Everything else is just the order.
